Ari Harrison, Former Erie Town Councilor 2020-2024

“After nine years of public service to Erie, including 4.5 years on the Planning Commission as Vice Chair and four years representing residents on the Town Council, including during the historic challenges of the pandemic, I know what this work costs. I know the late nights, the difficult conversations, the balance between immediate demands and long-term vision, and the personal sacrifice it requires (my family can attest to this). For all those Erie residents who voted for me in 2020, and for those who didn’t yet, I still represented, my endorsement of Amy Becker for Erie Town Council, District 3 carries my full conviction. The values that I learned growing up in a military family, the ultimate sacrifice that my father made for this country in a time of war, firmly imprinted on me what leadership, courage and duty to one’s country, and hometown is all about. Amy brings the same values that guided my own tenure, and I trust her to uphold them well:
  • Honesty. Having sat at that council table myself, I can confirm Amy’s commitment to transparent leadership and evidence-based decision-making reflects real governance, not campaign rhetoric. She will tell residents the truth about budgets, growth, and trade-offs, even when it’s unpopular.
  • Integrity. Amy’s promise that every person deserves dignity and respect aligns with my belief that council decisions must be principled, not expedient. Integrity means putting Erie’s long-term interests above short-term political convenience, regardless of outside pressure.
  • Duty. I served on regional bodies like DRCOG, Boulder County DRCOG Subregional Forum, and the Consortium of Cities because representing Erie’s interests beyond our borders matters. Amy understands this obligation too, showing up, listening across all neighborhoods in District 3, and doing the homework required to cast informed votes on issues shaping our community.
  • Servant leadership. Nine years of service to the Town of Erie, and over 20 years of service to state and federal governments taught me this: public office exists to serve residents, not the other way around. Success is measured by outcomes for Erie families—safer streets, accessible budget communications, secure and sustainable economic growth grounded in community input, and neighborhoods where everyone feels welcome and empowered to thrive.
Having navigated the role myself through unpredictable times, I know Amy Becker will carry this responsibility with honor. I urge my fellow Erie residents to vote for her.”
